Drones in Logistics

Thank You to those that attended our SCLP Speaker Luncheon on 18 October 2017, featuring guest speaker Nick Foxall, Founder & CEO of Dronesurvey Asia, presenting a comprehensive briefing about the Drones in Logistics.

Nick outlined the most prevalent applications for drones in business today, and addressed how they could potentially be deployed in the shipping and logistics sectors, subject to economic viability and standardisation of the regulatory frameworks governing airspace. Delivery of high-value, time-sensitive products to remote locations seems the most realistic application in logistics, with several major express and logistics providers all experimenting with the technology.

Lucky Draw Prizes were drawn and presented by our guest speaker Nick Foxall:

A bottle of Italian Wine donated by Voglia da Vino was presented to prize winner Rita Chan, General Manager Freight, Havi;
Nigel Moore, Director Sales and Marketing of Wallem, won a Complimentary Pass to attend the Asian Logistics & Maritime Conference (ALMC) during 23-24 November at HKCEC;
Paul Wright, Managing Director, Asia of Shop Direct won a Complimentary Pass to the GS1 Hong Kong Summit being held on 7 November at HKCEC.

New in Hong Kong - the Flyability Elios collision-proof drone

NIck brought with him the new Flyability Elios - the first collision-proof drone of its type in Hong Kong, specifically designed for internal inspections in tight, confined and sometimes hazardous spaces, for which Dronesurvey Asia are the official reseller in Hong Kong and Macau.
